Biographies
Paul Arena – Director Paul is the Chairman, President, and CEO of publicly held i2 Telecom Int'l. In 1994, he founded Cereus Technology Partners, a publicly traded technology company. Prior to that, he served as a Senior Vice President and partner of Gulfstream Financial Associates, a subsidiary of the Kemper Group, where he performed various corporate finance, syndication and distribution functions, which raised over $2 billion in financing. Paul is also a financial advisor and minority interest owner of one of the world’s largest paper recycling facilities.
His career has included the direction of both start-up and established environments, financing, overall operations, formulation and implementation of innovative business strategies, financial management, legal and accounting functions, M&A ventures, technology services and product distribution to both corporate and consumer markets. His specialties include finance, negotiations, and public company reporting.
Paul's awards include Product of the Year Award (2004), Best In Show (2005), and Service Provider of the Year (2005), all in internet telephony. He graduated from Barry University and lives in Georgia with his family.
Ernest Brown - Director Ernest is the Principal of Financial Manager’s Resources and Northeast Capital Holdings, which provides direct small business financing. He is also a partner with Working Capital Northeast that provides consulting services to growing companies, a partner with Keltic Financial, a N.Y. based Asset Based Lender, and an associate of Millennium Funding.
Ernest is a speaker to financial consultants and received the 2007 Contributing Writer of the Year award by the American Cash Flow Journal.
Prior to dedicating himself to financial consulting Ernest enjoyed a thirty-year career with DuPont. He earned his MBA from Franklin Pierce College and a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Technology from the University of Mass. In 1970, he left West Point because of a sports-related injury. Ernest lives in New England with his family.
Chris Bylander – Chairman and CEO For the past twelve years Chris has served as U.S. President and CEO of a European telecommunications company, President and CEO of a global manufacturing group, Managing Director of a software developer in the financial services industry, and COO of an Internet infrastructure company. In 1990 he co-founded a Brussels based technical institute and notified body to the European Commission and served until recently on its Board of Directors.
In 1989, Chris founded an international sales division for a large consumer products retailer and served as its director until 1995. Prior to that, he served eight years as VP of Marketing at IBM UCC, one of the first IBM Value Added Resellers and he remains a member of the Greater IBM Connection, a professional group for current and former IBM associates.
Chris received the State of Missouri Global Partnership honor by Governor Mel Carnahan in 1996. He was educated in business administration at Uppsala, Sweden, and at Oxford Brookes University in the United Kingdom. He is a citizen of the United States, Switzerland, and Sweden. Chris lives in Missouri with his family.
Joseph Soraghan – General Counsel
Joe serves as President of the Missouri Venture Forum, an organization he helped create in 1984 to help drive new business formation and to provide sources of capital and service providers to Midwest companies.
Joe guides business in financing, contracts, and Mergers & Acquisitions. He assists clients in offering securities and in complying with state and U.S. securities laws. He serves on the mediation and arbitration panels of the American Arbitration Association, the National Association of Securities Dealers, and the New York Stock Exchange. Joe is also an adjunct professor of securities law at Washington University School of Law.
Joe earned his Masters in Law from Yale Law School, his J.D., with honors, from Washington University School of Law, and his Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, with honors, from Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard submarines and as a reserve officer with six commands over a period of twenty years. Joe lives in Missouri with his family.
