Partner, Chief Executive Officer
Kurt MacAlpine
Kurt is a Partner and CEO of Corient and CEO and Director of CI Financial. As CEO of CI Financial, he introduced a new strategic direction for CI that resulted in the creation and growth of Corient, which was launched in 2020 in the US. As of March 2025, Corient has grown to $190 billion in client assets and has integrated 40 firms into one unified wealth manager. Within Corient, Kurt developed a unique private partnership model in which ~260 Partners are equity owners in the business. Corient’s partnership of equals promotes collaboration and incentivizes our Partners and colleagues to bring the best that Corient has to offer to each and every client. Prior to CI, Kurt was EVP and Head of Global Distribution for WisdomTree Asset Management and Partner/Leader of the North American Asset Management Practice at McKinsey & Company. Kurt holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University and an MBA from Queen’s University.

Partner, Chief Operating Officer
Leonard L.C. Gullan
Leonard is a Partner and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Corient. As COO, he is responsible for overseeing the firm’s operations, technology, trading, legal, compliance and real estate teams. He also leads transformation teams that build and power the innovative operating platform that differentiates Corient’s client solutions and services. Prior to Corient, Leonard was a Managing Director at Citadel, a leading hedge fund, where he held a variety of senior leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer of Global Equities. Prior to Citadel, he worked at McKinsey & Company and was a successful entrepreneur early in his career. Leonard serves on the Board of Directors of Baptist Health Foundation. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was captain of the tennis team, and his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Partner, Chief Marketing Officer
Julie Silcox
Julie is a Partner and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Corient and CI Financial. She is responsible for all aspects of global branding and communications. She joined the firm in 2020. Prior to CI, Julie served as CMO at WisdomTree Investments for 14 years, building the company’s brand from a start-up to a leading global ETF firm. Prior to that, she was a Senior Vice President at Bank of America (BAC) overseeing marketing for their Private Bank, then the largest in the country. Before BAC, Julie held senior marketing roles at Citigroup and Fidelity. She is a graduate of New York University.

Chief Human Resource Officer
Manisha Burman
Manisha is the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of CI Financial and Corient. In this role, Manisha leads the HR Function, including Total Rewards, Learning and Leadership, Employee Relations, HR Systems and Governance, Corporate Giving and Talent Acquisition. Throughout her career, Manisha held senior HR, Business and Transformation roles at global organizations including EY, GE, RBC and BMO. Most recently at BMO, Manisha’s roles included CHRO of Capital Markets and Wealth International, the Head of Talent Management and the Head of Client Experience and Workforce Effectiveness. Manisha holds a master’s degree in industrial relations from the University of Toronto, an undergraduate degree in psychology and research methods from the University of Western Ontario and a certificate in business management from the London School of Economics.

Partner, Chief Solutions Officer
Andrew Holmberg
Andrew is a Partner and Chief Solutions Officer at Corient. Andrew is responsible for managing Corient’s traditional investment strategy and platform, which provides leading investment capabilities for clients. He oversees our wealth planning function, delivering comprehensive financial planning as well as sophisticated wealth transfer strategies. Additionally, Andrew manages our family office services, including Corient’s tax business, personal CFO services and corporate trustee services provided through Corient Trust Company. Prior to Corient, Andrew worked at Millennium Management, a leading global hedge fund, serving in multiple strategic and operational roles, and before that, at the Boston Consulting Group, covering corporate clients within a range of financial services. Andrew is a graduate of Duke University and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Partner, Head of M&A
Peter Papamichalopoulos
Peter is a Partner and Head of M&A at Corient, where he leads the firm’s mergers and acquisitions efforts and drives its integration strategies. As of September 2024, he has managed the sourcing and execution of more than 40 deals, with a combined total of USD $185 billion in client assets. Peter joined CI Financial in 2003 following its acquisition of Assante Wealth Management. Before taking on his current role at Corient, he held various positions across both the asset and wealth management sectors at CI Financial. Peter holds a degree from Concordia University.

Partner, Head of Alternatives
Peter Watson
Peter is a Partner and Head of Alternatives for Corient and CI Financial. He oversees sourcing, diligence and administration on behalf of CI’s combined USD $354+ billion in client assets(as of 10/21/24), investing in best-in-class third-party managers to deliver on clients’ goals. Peter is also the Regional Managing Partner for the NY/Tri-State Wealth Advisory team at Corient. Prior to Corient, Peter was a Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in the Asset and Wealth Management practice. Prior to BCG, Peter was the Head of Data Intelligence and Strategy at WisdomTree Asset Management. Peter started his career at McKinsey & Company and holds a PhD from Scripps Research and a BA from Carleton College.

Partner, Chief Financial Officer
Francisco Tobias
Francisco is a Partner and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Corient. He brings more than 25 years of experience in global finance and corporate strategy and joined us from Citigroup, where he served as CFO for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He spearheaded Citi’s finance modernization, governance and technology transformation, giving him deep knowledge of data management, regulatory reporting and capital planning. Francisco was also CFO of Citibanamex and the Latin American Region. Prior to that, Francisco worked at Smith Barney and Citi Private Bank, where he was involved in several M&A deals (Legg Mason, Wachovia and the sale to Morgan Stanley). He is a graduate of the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology (ITBA) and holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Partner, Head of US Wealth Advisory
Darren Henderson
Darren is a Partner and Head of US Wealth Advisory of Corient. He is responsible for managing the firm’s advisors, overseeing strategic initiatives, attracting and retaining new clients and helping to ensure clients receive the best possible advice. Previously, Darren was the Co-Founder of an acquired wealth management firm that ultimately joined Corient. Before co-founding his firm, Darren was a Senior Vice President in the Private Banking & Investment Group at Merrill Lynch and a Vice President at Goldman Sachs & Co. in the Private Wealth Management Division. Darren is actively involved in the community, including the Planned Giving Committee of the Hoag Hospital Foundation and the National Advisory Council of the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University. In his spare time, Darren enjoys surfing, golfing, cycling and spending time with his family. Darren holds an MBA in finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from Brigham Young University.

Partner, Chief Investment Officer
Matt Krauss
Matt is a Partner and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at Corient. He leads the strategic direction of Corient’s investment platform, serves as Chair of the Corient Investment Committee and focuses on delivering the firm’s best investment thinking to clients across the country. With more than 20 years of experience in investment management and portfolio construction, Matt has a broad understanding of the investment markets and how they impact personal financial planning. He started his career as an investment analyst and trader at Falcon Fund Management and worked for a single-family office before joining legacy firm RGT in Dallas. Matt held a series of investment roles at RGT, ultimately earning the position of CIO. He is a graduate of Duke University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst® Charterholder.
